Monarch needs a home!!!

Poor Monarch has not had an easy life....

She was picked up as a stray by animal control in June of 2010 and spent 6 months living in a cage at Georgina Animal Control.

She was rescued in the nick of time on December 21 as she was on the urgent list and euthanasia was on the horizon for her. Monarch was spayed and settled into her foster home (my place!) and I began the quest to find her a home.

She didn't get along particularly well with other cats so finding her a home where she could be the only cat was difficult. She eventually found a home with a single person the end of March. She blossomed in her own domain and her new owner just loved her. Unfortunately in June I received a phone call letting me know that her new owner was in hospital and Monarch had no where to go...So Monarch is back with me again and I have recently received word that Monarch's owner is not well enough to take her back...so she is once again looking for a forever home.

She is just a lovely affectionate girl and even gets along with a few of my cats when they pay her visits in her room so she may be able to be homed in an environment with another laid back cat (or two!)

I'm really hoping she will be able to find a stable environment soon as she has been homeless for so long....In the meantime she lives in my office room and lies beside me as I use the computer, purring constantly from when I enter the room until I have to leave...she just craves company!

So, if anyone knows of a potential home for my little Monarch girl, please let me know!

Graham Adopted!

Sweet Graham was adopted by a great family and he is doing very well! He is sharing his new home with a rescued (formerly feral) black girl who is just a little beauty and has come around so well since being rescued last fall by this wonderful family!

Now just to find forever homes for Akalina, Monarch, Manny, Darla and Amber!!

Time Fies!

Graham at HAC

Graham...happy to be rescued!

Wow, I can't believe it's time to start a new calendar and this blog has been neglected! I have been super-busy with more rescues than ever this year and have just had not time...adding to that the fact I am still on dial up in my home as the high speed option on the horizon last year never materialized for our area...so checking and uploading pictures for the Blog is a challenge!
I wanted to back track and give data on 2010's rescues and do a good history and so on but I'm going to just start or I will never do this at all!
I will try to submit a couple of pictures of my two newest rescues from Hamilton Animal Control:
Amber the very sweet tortie and Graham the mellow lovely buff tabby boy! They were rescued from HAC on July 17.
It was my first trip into HAC myself and for all the bad press HAC gets for their euthanizing rates (which is probably deserved as they are atrocious!) the place was clean and bright the staff were friendly and helpful and the animals certainly all seemed well taken care of...so it's not all bad there...
Well, I don't know what happened with importing the pictures, but I can't make them fit better or label the ones of Amber! I will publish this imperfect blog anyway as it's taken awhile even to do this!!
